He had been together romantically with Angel for many months now and still they had not had the courage to tell their friends and work colleagues. Wesley was unsure if they would be happy for them if they told them, best be kept a secret for the time being though doing so had it's problems. Since their last case him and Angel had spent very little time together except for a few stolen kisses when nobody was looking. How the Englishman craved his vampire lovers body, just thinking of that perfect body made him become hard which was why he was sitting down with a large book covering his lap.

Noticing that Angel was trying to get them some time alone but Cordelia just wouldn't go away no matter how Angel tried to get her to leave. Deciding on another course of action to be alone together, Wesley watched the vampire leave to go into his office, damn he had a fine ass, the ex-watcher thought to himself as he admired his lovers ass from afar.

In a day dream which featured a naked Angel moaning underneath him he nearly didn't notice the open door to the vampires private office. Looking over at Cordelia who was reading her magazine, Wesley quickly hurried over and into Angel's office. Closing the door shut and locking it just in case, Wesley leaned against the now closed door and sighed with relief that they had finally gotten a chance to be alone in the same room together.

Looking over at his honey Wesley couldn't help but smile. "How I've missed you lately." He told the vampire as he walked over to Angel and found himself kissing his lover hungrily as he held on tight to the man he loved so much.

After the battle with the Black Thorn and Wolfram & Hart, Wesley decided he needed a much deserved, long break from Los Angeles and what was left of his friends. So as soon as possible he packed up his clothes and the few personal items he had and got on the first plane to Rome. Why Rome you may ask ? Well he had phoned Giles and it had been the older watcher who had suggested he go there and perhaps while on part vacation he could help Buffy out while Giles was starting the new watchers council. Mainly he just wanted Wesley to keep an eye on the young women. Of course Wesley knew Buffy would definitely not be pleased to see him or to have him back in her life again, but he had changed a great deal over the years and he was sure she had changed also. Perhaps they could be at least civil to one another during his stay in Italy.

On the plane he took a chance to finally rest. Though as he slept he dreamt only of nightmares. The loss of Fred, the appearance of Illryia, the down fall of his friends and nearly dying back in Los Angeles. He had come so close to death that it haunted him badly and he woke drenched in sweat as he glanced around him wondering if he had indeed died, but as he looked down at the food tray before him he knew he was alive for heaven would not be so cruel as to serve airline food. Taking a deep breath he calmed down and flagged down a stewardess and got himself a small glass of whiskey with ice to make him relax a little more.

For the rest of the journey Wesley did not sleep of fear of having his nightmares return once more to him. It was in the early hours of the morning by the time he arrived in Rome. Jet lagged, dark stubble on his face, messy hair and a crumpled shirt he grabbed his luggage and hailed down a taxi to take him to where Buffy was currently residing. On the way there he took time to enjoy the local scenery. It was truly beautiful and it had a wonderful effect on him, made him feel alive again to be away from Wolfram & Hart, stuck in his office all day, reading all those books. That was all behind him now and he was glad he wouldn't be going back to that life in a hurry.

Arriving at a large but old style apartment building, Wesley paid the taxi driver and carried his luggage inside. Glad to see there was an elevator instead of having to carry everything upstairs, he got in but quickly regretted doing so as the death trap called an elevator wearily made it's way to the floor where Buffy's apartment was. Thankful to get out alive he dragged his bags down the long hallway until he got to the door he was looking for. Knocking softly but loud enough to be heard he waited anxiously for the door to open.

Sitting alone in his apartment, Wesley Wyndham Pryce was truly all alone.

His friends had abandoned him, treated him as nothing more then some
traitor. He had lost everything he could have ever possibly cared about in
his life.

It had been a week since he had been released from the hospital. His throat still sore from the large cut caused by Justine's knife. All of his problems were because of that bitch, if she hadn't attacked him he could have gotten Connor to safety and then told his friends about what he had discovered, how Angel would have killed his infant son if he hadn't of taken him away. Instead Angel had tried to smoother him with a pillow, how Wesley wished Angel had finished the job then he wouldn't have to feel the way he did.

Holding the 9mm gun in his hands as he stared blankly at nothing. So this is what had become of his life, he chuckled silently to himself as he thought how proud his father would be of him, to know that everything he had taught him was now wasted on a failure of a son. He couldn't even stay loyal to a vampire and now the vampire had rejected him out of his life and out of his team. *Not even worthy anymore to a demon* He could hear the voice of his father deep with in his head and he gripped tighter onto the gun, fresh salty tears falling down onto his face as he began to tremble slightly. *Time for another drink* Wesley thought to himself as he picked up the nearly empty glass of whiskey and drank the contents before placing the glass back down on the table. He was truly pathetic, couldn't even go
through with it without getting drunk first. He laughed again then cried as he quickly stood from the chair he was sitting in and angrilly hit the glass with the back of his hand sending it smashing to the floor. Now on the ground on his knees he raised the gun to his head, closed his eyes tightly shut he prepared himself to pull the trigger when suddenly he heard someone knock on his door. He ignored it at first but then he heard the knocking once more. What if it was Fred come to forgive him ? Or Angel saying he was sorry for what he had done and wanted him back on their team ?

Standing, Wesley walked to the front door, making sure to place the loaded gun under a pillow on his sofa before standing before the door. Wiping the tears from his eyes he eagerly opened the door with anticipation but was extremely disappointed only to find Lilah Morgan standing there instead of one of his friends.

"Lilah." He said her name with a bitterness in his mouth as he glared at the brunette. "I'm guessing this isn't a social visit, what do you want I'm busy." He snapped at her wishing she would just go away so he could do what it had taken all week for him to gain the composure and courage to do.
